The miracle factory you already own
Written based on the teachings of Jim Rohn

Let me tell you what I used to get wrong about miracles.
I used to think miracles were things that happened TO you. Lightning bolts from the sky. Lucky breaks. Being in the right place at the right time.
Then Mr. Shoaff asked me a question that changed everything. He said, "Jim, what are you doing every day?" I told him about my job, my routine, nothing special. He said, "That's your problem. You're waiting for something to happen instead of making something happen."
Here's what I finally learned:
"Discipline has within it the potential for creating future miracles."
Now that's a phrase worth writing down.
See, discipline isn't punishment. Discipline is a miracle factory. Every disciplined act is a seed planted for a harvest you can't even imagine yet.

Somebody says, "But Jim, I've been disciplined for three months and nothing's changed." And I say, "How long did you neglect yourself before that?" We call that the law of the farm. You can't skip planting season and expect a harvest, right?
Here's what most people miss. They think discipline is about suffering now for rewards later. No, no, no. Discipline is about becoming the kind of person who ATTRACTS miracles. The reading you do today shapes the decisions you'll make in five years. The health habits you start this week determine what opportunities you'll have the energy to seize next decade.
Think about it this way. The farmer who plants every spring doesn't call the harvest a miracle. He calls it the natural result of doing what needed to be done when it needed to be done. But to someone who never planted? That same harvest looks like magic.
People say to me, "I need a miracle in my finances." I say, "What books on money have you read this year?" They say, "None." Well, there's your problem. We call that hoping without working. That's not faith — that's foolishness.
Here's my challenge for you this week, my friend. Pick one small discipline — just one. Reading ten pages a day. Walking for twenty minutes. Writing down your goals every morning. Do it for seven days straight.
You won't see a miracle by Friday. But you'll be building the factory that creates them.
